The main objective fo the European Network for Biodiversity Information (ENBI) is to manage an open network composed by the relevant biodiversity information centres in Europe and other countries of the Western Palaeartic region. One of the principal goals of ENBI is to inform both institutional staff including new generations of scientists, and policy makers, making available information and expertise about data contents and data management technologies, as well as best-practice procedures. In this context, ENBI organizes an annual electronic conference, as well as an associated workshop. The topic for this First ENBI Forums Workshop will be derived from the issues raised during the First ENBI e-conference: Open-access for biodiversity information (10th to 28th September 2003) and the Second ENBI e-conference: Data Validation and Restrictions in the GBIF network (9th to 24th March 2004). |
